FINAL PORTFOLIO PRAD-256

Welcome to my portfolio, showcasing the work I completed in the Writing for Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD-256) course with Professor Julie Ferguson. This collection includes a variety of projects such as a news/press release, a fact sheet, executive bios, a social media calendar, internal communications, and ad copy. Each piece reflects my skills in strategic communication, creativity, and attention to detail. I am proud of the effort and dedication I put into this work, and I hope you enjoy reviewing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Portfolio

01. Cover Letter

This cover letter-style piece outlines the work I completed during PRAD-256. It explains what can be found in my portfolio, offering a detailed look at the skills and projects I developed.

02. Resume

My resume as of June 1, 2024.

03. News Release

This is the initial press release for the fictional "Bean Bash" event that I developed during the quarter. It contains all the necessary information for an event press release and adheres to industry formatting standards.

04. Fact Sheet

The fact sheet, or "About Us" section, contains additional information about the event. It includes details such as event programming, expected attendance, and more.

05. Executive Bio

For this assignment, we were directed to write an executive bio for a fictional employee. To stay consistent with the Bean Bash event, I created Evelyn Grant, who is the Vice President of Tourism and Event Planning for the organization hosting the event.

06. Social Calendar

In this document, I created a mock social media post calendar for the month of June for Choose Chicago. It includes captions, images, the day and time of each post, and the platforms on which the posts should be shared.

07. Internal Comm.

For this assignment, we were instructed to draft a one-page internal email from the VP of HR of a company of our choice. The email addresses the company's working-from-home procedures moving forward.

08. Ad Copy

Here you'll find ad copy designed for Choose Chicago, centered around a campaign I named "Chicago Unseen," which highlights the hidden gems of the city.
